Trouble report 608

Focal length detection fails to update displayed value in the Wizard

Versions affected

4.3

Description

After performing automatic focal length detection, the Wizard should update the value displayed on Wizard Step 3.  This enables you to see the final value chosen by the Wizard.  However, a problem introduced in V4.3 prevents this value from updating.

Although the panorama is stitched properly using the correct focal length value, the Wizard continues to display the original value.

This affects the work flow described in Multi-row stitching with The Panorama Factory V4.

Workaround

To view the focal length chosen by the Wizard:

  1. When the Wizard finishes stitching, exit the Wizard with the Done button.

  2. Open the Camera properties dialog box (Tools menu).

  3. The final focal length chosen by the Wizard is displayed in the text field under the heading Focal length.

To perform multi-row stitching

  1. Follow the instructions in Multi-row stitching with The Panorama Factory V4 with the following modifications.

  2. After stitching the first row, before stitching subsequent rows, open the the Camera properties dialog box (Tools menu) and write down the final focal length chosen by the Wizard .

  3. When stitching subsequent rows, enter this focal length value on Wizard Step 3 after choosing  I am certain of the focal length.

Status

Corrected in V4.4.
