Inefficient memory usage in V2.0 and V2.1

Description

Before a panorama has been saved for the first time, The Panorama Factory should save temporary copies of the image files in the auto-save/recovery file.  This doesn't always work properly in V2.0 and V2.1, causing memory usage to be less efficient than it should be. This problem may lead to Out of memory errors.

Workaround

None.
