Trouble report 52

The object that '....lnk' refers to has been moved or is unaccessible

Versions affected

V2.0.

Description

The Panorama Factory setup adds these entries to the Windows Start menu:

The Panorama Factory Help
The Panorama Factory Help ... Getting started

Depending on whether you install the local help or web help version of The Panorama Factory, these entries refer either to local help files or to the help web at www.panoramafactory.com.

If you install the web help version of The Panorama Factory, these Start menu entries do not work correctly under Internet Explorer 5.  When you click on one of these entries, Windows displays the message:

The object that '....lnk' refers to has been moved or is unaccessible

Although this is a problem for web help installations with Internet Explorer 5, The Start menu entries still work properly for local help installations and for web help installations with other browsers.

The help file can be accessed successfully from within The Panorama Factory regardless of which installation and which browser you are running.

Workaround

If you are using Internet Explorer 5 with web help, the workaround is to access the help file from within The Panorama Factory by using the Help menu.

If you are using Netscape Navigator or if you are using Internet Explorer 4, no workaround is necessary.

If you are using the local help version of The Panorama Factory, no workaround is necessary.

Status

Corrected in V2.1
