Abnormal termination at 0x696b1a1b creating thumbnail

Description

Creating a thumbnail image with the Save Image As dialog box causes an abnormal termination for some images. This error occurs for tall, skinny images when "Scale image to fit width, then crop height" is chosen as the method for creating thumbnail images on the Thumbnail index properties dialog box.

Workaround

Select a different method for creating thumbnail images, e.g. "Scale image to fit width and height".
