Cannot import 16-bit grayscale TIFF images

Description

Attempting to import a 16-bit grayscale TIFF image produces this error message:

No put routine
setupl; probably can not handle image format."

When you press "OK" the application terminates with:

Unhandled exception in PFactory.exe (PFCORE.DLL): 0xC0000005: Access Violation.

Workaround

Convert the image to a 16-bit color TIFF before importing into The Panorama Factory.
