Next time use the Classic interface you may need to use the New project wizard command (File menu).
NOTE: In V5, the Wizard popup "tips" (text displayed with the light-bulb icons) are shown only when the panel is floating (not docked). If the Wizard panel is docked to the left, right, top or bottom of the screen, you must press the light-bulb button to see the "tips". These instructions assume that you are running with the Wizard panel docked.
The Wizard panels have three layouts--floating, horizontal (docked at top or bottom) and vertical (docked at left or right). You should view each Wizard panel in all three configurations to be sure your strings look right.
Procedure 1 -- Test fully automatic stitching.
Procedure 2 -- Test semi-automatic and manual photo stitching.
Procedure 3 -- Test manual document stitching.
1. 1/7 (or 1/9) - Import your images. Press the light bulb button to see the tips. Import two images and then click the Next> button.
2. 2/7 (or 2/9) - Choose stitching method. Press the light bulb button to see the tips. Select Fully automatic and then click the Next> button.

3/7 - Describe your camera. To see all
variations of this panel, select each Camera type from the drop down list.
Press the light bulb button after each change to see the tips that are specific
to the camera type. For each camera type, toggle the Automatically
detect focal length checkbox on and off to see the tips about focal
length.
The controls on the panel will also change as you change the camera type.
Select Digital camera and then choose *** My camera is
not in the list *** from the Make or Model
drop down list to see a message box about what to do if your camera is not in
The Panorama Factory's camera library.
Choose Digital camera, and select Automatically detect focal length, Correct barrel distortion and Correct
Brightness falloff.
Click the Next> button.
4. Step 4/7 - Control image quality. Press the light bulb button to see the tips. Select all check boxes and click the Next> button.
5. Step 5/7 - Select panorama type. Press the light bulb button to see the tips. Select each Output format from the dropdown list. Choose Image file only. Click the Next> button.

Step 6/7 - Create your panorama. Press the
light bulb button to see the tips. Choose Prepare image
for printing and then choose Prepare image for internet
display. The resolution and size controls will change as you change the
option.
Click the Next> button and observe the Wizard
progress panel.
Progress messages (in the pfactory.po folder named “Wizard progress steps”) are
shown in the title line.
7. Step 7/7 - Save and print your panorama. Press the light bulb button to see the tips. Click the Next> button.
8. Learn more about.... Press the light bulb button to see the tips. Click the Done button.
1. 1/9 (or 1/7) - Import your images. You have already tested this Wizard panel in Procedure 1. Import two images and then click the Next> button.
2. 2/9 (or 2/7) - Choose stitching method. Select Semi-automatic and then click the Next> button.

already tested this Wizard panel in Procedure 1. Choose Digital
camera, and select Correct barrel distortion
and Correct Brightness falloff. Remove the
checkmark from Automatically detect focal length
so that you will see tips in Step 6/9 about focal length.
Click the Next> button.
4. Step 4/9 - Control image quality. You have already tested this Wizard panel in Procedure 1. Select all check boxes and click the Next> button.
5. Step 5/9 - Select panorama type. You have already tested this Wizard panel in Procedure 1. Choose Image file only. Click the Next> button.

Step 6/9 - Place stitching points (semi-automatic
stitching). Press the light bulb button to see the tips for
semi-automatic stitching.
Place the first stitching point. You will see a tip about holding SHIFT+CTRL
for 500% zoom.
Place 10 stitching points in random positions on the pair of images. Make sure
the points do not match in the two images. When you place the 10th
point, you will see a tip asking “Would you like to change to automatic
detection and try again.” Click Yes to change to
automatic detection. You will see another tip asking "Would you like to
change to manual stitching and try again?" Click Yes
to change to manual stitching. You will see another tip suggesting that you
review the points. Click OK.
Delete the bad stitching points and then select the checkbox labeled Rotate all images the same amount to change back to
semi-automatic stitching.
Place 5 stitching points in corresponding positions on the pair of images.
Click the Next> button.
7. Step 7/9 - Preview at low resolution (semi-automatic stitching). Press the light bulb button to see the tips for semi-automatic stitching. Click the Back> button.
8. Step 6/9 - Place stitching points (manual stitching). De-select the checkbox labeled Rotate all images the same amount. Press the light bulb button to see the tips for manual stitching. Click the Next> button.
9. Step 7/9 - Preview at low resolution (manual stitching). Press the light bulb button to see the tips for manual stitching.
10. You do not need to test Step 8/9 and Step 9/9. These are the same as Step 6/7 and Step 7/7 for fully automatic stitching.

stitching). Press the light bulb button to see the tips for manual
document stitching.
Place 10 stitching points in random positions on the pair of images. Make sure
the points do not match in the two images. When you place the 2nd
point, you will see a tip suggesting that you review the points. Click OK.
Delete the bad stitching points and then place 2 stitching points in
corresponding positions on the pair of images. Click the Next> button.
5. Step 5/7 - Preview at low resolution (manual document stitching). Press the light bulb button to see the tips for manual document stitching.
6. You do not need to test Step 6/7 and Step 7/7. These are the same as Step 6/7 and Step 7/7 for fully automatic stitching.
