Hello,
I just purchase your software...and everything 's working!
I 'd like to know you if it's possible to resize QTVR movie produced by PFactory.
All my movies have the same size: i would like to put them on the Internet but they are all 500Ko...
I just would like to resize them in order to allow people to download.

There are two ways to interpret this question:
1. How can I reduce the size of the .MOV file so that it takes less disk space?
2. How can I control the displayed dimension of the QTVR image on the screen? The file size and the displayed image size are independent of each other. However reducing the file size also reduces the image quality. This is because it reduces the number of pixels stored in the .MOV file.
You have to balance two factors: The file size versus image quality at a particular displayed image size. You can't have a large, high quality image and a very small file size at the same time.
1. How can I reduce the size of the .MOV file so that it takes less disk space?
If you are using the Wizard interface, the size of the QTVR image file is defined on Wizard Step 4. The default setting, "Maximum size," creates an image file whose size is based on the size of your imported images.
To control the size yourself, select the "Displayed width" or "Displayed height" radio button and enter the desired image size in pixels. The Panorama Factory will create the QTVR image file with the width or height you enter.
If you are using the Classic interface, use the Resize command (New image menu) to resize your cropped image.
It may require a little experimentation to find a good value for image size. I suggest you start by setting the height to 400 pixels. If this creates a QTVR that is too large or too small, try again with a slightly smaller or larger value.
1. How can I control the displayed dimension of the QTVR image on the screen?
The displayed image size is outside the control of The Panorama Factory. This is a function of the HTML statements you write in your web page. The Preview command in The Panorama Factory displays the image at a fixed size: 400 wide by 320 high. This should be OK when the height you give Wizard Step 4 is 320 pixels or more, but if you specify a smaller value, the image will become blurry and fuzzy. The image will also become fuzzy and blurry if you zoom too much regardless of the height given in Wizard Step 4. |

Further to the information about display size on the Webpage. The quicktime player allows the correct resizing of a QTVR movie to suit the final image size. For instance : I have created movies of 100 pixels high which, when played locally the player window can be resized to a thumbnail sized QTVR - this would be useful for quickload previews of approx 100K. The problem is displaying on a web page as a plugin. When embedded the displayed image appears to preset to a standard size ( hence the fuzzy image ). I have seen thumbnail sized QTVR movies on other sites - although these may be active X or other formats. Is it possible to script or set other parameters for the plugin to allow correct viewing ? I am already setting my "window" size on pages |

The Panorama Factory does not provide direct control over the displayed size of a QTVR image. Editing the WIDTH= and HEIGHT= values of the quicktime embed tag in the HTML file does not work correctly to change the displayed size.
Increasing the size beyond 400x320 merely surrounds the image with whitespace. Reducing the size below 400x320 clips the viewer, and in doing so removes the QuickTime toolbar.
Here is the workaround:
Adding "scale=tofit" to the HTML code corrects the problem. For example:

The next bug-fix release of The Panorama Factory will add the "scale=tofit" automatically. |

Thanks for the info - in between posting and reading your response I had trawled for further info on the web ( duh ! - never yet ceases to catch me out) and found the "scale" options. I have since implemented the SCALE="ASPECT" and provided a thumbnail variant for a client. ( Yet to receive response and see results on the web ) |

Dear Friends,
I am still experimenting with your software. At first glance things looked great, the wizard is doing a good job ... but then the results were disappointing, the image quality of your movies is unacceptable for professional use, in particular the shadow areas are patchy and not smooth. I refer to panaromas I have seen done by my friend with QT Authoring Studio, they are excellent in quality. Anything we can do about this ? I would really be interested in buying the software, but this image quality I get at the moment will not suffice professional requirements.

Hello there
I'm getting stuck with the QTVR size on a web page being stuck at 320 pixels wide. I'm using Netfusion to write the page and I can't adjust the HTML code for QT movie files. Am I stuck?
