I have completed the pan however cannot print nor save due to commands greyed out...

The Print and Save View As commands apply to the current image. They will be greyed out when the bottom pane is showing the imported thumbnail images.

To Print or Save an individual image, double-click its thumbnail to make it the current image before selecting the Print or Save View As menu item.
