Dear all,
the item "Enhance" is translated to "Verbessern".
The item "Improve Quality" is translated to "Qualität verbessern".
I can deal with the item "Qualität verbessern" and can imagine what PF will do. But just with the word/item "verbessern" I do not have a clue what PF will behave like.
Because the item "enhance" will lead to the window with the filter settings, it may should be renamed to "Filter anwenden" (apply Filter) instead of "verbessern".
What do you think?

We could change it, however then the German version would differ from the English. John Strait to advise whether that is acceptable.
If changing it is not advisable, I do not think we should keep "Verbessern", since its also being used in "Qualität verbessern" will lead to confusion. I would propose using "Aufwerten" (which also means "enhance") instead.
BTW, although improvement may be what the program author had in mind (he is in general a nice and therefore a positive person), I have no idea whether the filter is actually always used to improve images - that may depend on the operator's skill and on the "beholder's eye". John mentioned once that most users only use a subset of the filter's capabilities. If it is typically used for enhancing something, the term "enhance" may in fact be the most appropriate term. John?

I agree with you totaly and you have made clear what I meant: "Verbessern" and "Qualität verbessern" leads to a confusion.
"Aufwerten" is better but even if the words are different their meaning is totally the same within German.
So "Filter" was the approach to point out that it is different from "Qualität verbessern". Furthermore the item leads to window "Filter". But you are totally right: The German version should not differ too much from the English one. To be honest, I would change the English version too - even if existing users have to reorientate themselves.
Within the Adobe Photoshop the item "Filter" is very common. Maybe it is nice to also introduce it to PF. It would be great if there would be also a menuitem called "filter" where I can "sharpen" the picture or "descrease noise" within the picture. But hey, now I am doing a feature request.
Alternatively "verbessern" or "aufwerten" should be supplemented with another word which describes what will be "verbessert". Eg like: "Qualität verbessern" that would be maybe the best way to solve this misunderstanding issue.
