When I use my Digital Rebel w/ the 18-55mm lens, it has a lot of barrel distortion. I stitch using Pano Factory's (v3.1) Classic interface. Frequently, PF will misalign image pairs by as much as 10% of the image width. No problem, the excellent manual tools allow me to quickly realign image pairs. After manual positioning, I'll open Camera Properties to adjust the lens distortion setting. Upon exiting Camera Properties, PF restitches. Instead of using the carefully positioned image locations, PF starts over and misaligns the image pairs as before. Is there a way to lock the image pairs so I don't get into this loop? Do I need to change my work flow? Other? |

When you update parameters with the Camera properties dialog box, The Panorama Factory offers to restitch the panorama. You can decline to restitch, but then the panorama doesn't reflect the changes you made. (Note that the same is true of the Alignment properties dialog box and the Fine tuning properties dialog box.) Yes, you should change your work flow. To make adjustments to the focal length, barrel distortion correction, or brightness falloff correction of an existing panorama, you should use the controls on the Overlap region dialog box. You'll find step-by-step instructions in the help sections Adjusting focal length and barrel correction and Adjusting exposure matching and brightness falloff. These help sections are in the Troubleshooting guide which contains other helpful procedures for correcting common problems.
