Had a quick look at the list of FAQ’s and could not see this issue. I have a Nikon D100 (bought August 2003), My first try with it was at the Edinburgh Tattoo. I wanted to create panoramas with PF however, I set the ISO to 1600 as flash would be useless. The pictures came out great but when I stitch them they come out very grainy. I can Zoom into the picture in Paint Shop Pro 7 without any grain but it looks awful after stiching. How can I overcome this?

You made your photos with ISO 1600 because they are night shots. The solution to your problem is to turn off Automatic Exposure Correction. Automatic Exposure Correction does not have good behavior for night shots. You might also want to experiment with turning off Automatic Exposure Matching.
