Hi
I have found the best way to get a good panaramic photo is to use a monopod. |

Of course a tripod works also. If you have a pan head with degree marks on it, thishelps you get the same amount of overlap betrween all images. I have found that 25 to 30% overlap works very well.
One caution - when you pan with the tripod head, make sure that everything is level. |

Friend of mine uses a monopod with an eye level plus a small cheepo compass glued on it. With the eye level he ensures the upright position of the camera and with the compass he controls the rotation of the camera. - simple but effective! |

werner is genious!
i have developped a project with a turning wheel(the one used to turn tv-sets) with marked degrees(fixed to the fixed wheel on ground) and a turning pointer. the compass-idea is most effective. you mean a bubble-level.
bubble-level with compass integrated with in a monopod would be nice.
linhof has a unique telescopic tripod which can be used as a hand grip too(obviously not for panoramas). |
