Is there a way to obtain better sharpness when zooming? There are some exaples for example on teh pages of mercedes benz. the loss of quality when zoomin an interieur of a car is very small! There are examples on the mgi (ivr) homepage when yo zomm in ist seems, that a sharper part of the panorama is loaded in. How do I get these effects? |

The examples shown on the MGI website require special software running on the web server. This software, the Zoom Image Server, is a product of MGI Software. The "better sharpness" you seek is really the result of having a very high resolution panoramic image on the server. You can do this yourself and view it with an ordinary panoramic viewer, but typically the transfer time for large, high resolution images is prohibitive. The Zoom Image Server presents one solution to this problem. Of course even if you deploy MGI Software's Zoom Image Server, you should still produce your panoramic images using The Panorama Factory for its superior stitching capabilities. |
