Hello my friends,
I am so fascinated from the beauty of the panoramapictures. It is such a good way to be able to come close to that feeling, standing on a moutain top, and be able to look and look ....and see!
But after having processed the pictures, I have them on my notebook.
If I want to show them with a projector,
then the result is not that good.
If I have the whole picture on the projector, then it is very small. Or I only can see a part of it.
One good way could be, to have a software, which is able to "drive through a picture" during the projection,
but the best would be, to be able to "connect"
multiple projector, to really have the "panorama-feeling".
Is somebody here, who has experience with that
"multiple connected projection" and knows something about software (shareware) and other hint and tips?

One of my favorite early memories of panoramas was visiting Disneyland and later Disney World and seeing Circle Vision 360. If you did not see it, basically you were brought with a lot of other people into the center of a room. All around are projectors that extend from floor to ceiling.
As the film starts (yes, this was a movie, not just still images like we are working with PF) you see things in every direction. It appeared that they had a series of cameras in the center (or perhaps shooting into a mirror ball) to make sure that there was an image in every direction.
I loved being able to walk around and see the entire movie as if I was there, fantastic!
I have often thought about trying to recreate, but don't have the resources. If I did I would setup multiple projectors using a rear screen projection pointing back to the center of the room. I would have either a trap door that could lift up and allow people into the center or perhaps a spiral staircase (but then it would block part of the image if you looked around.)
As you stood in the center of the room, you would project parts of the panorama from the various projectors. By doing this it would provide the illusion that you were in the middle of the picture.
I have thought seriously about doing this and think that it would be fabulous to have my on circle vision 360.
