When I try to install the latest 5.1 version, I get the following message "A Network error occurred while attempting to read from the file: C\Windows\Installer\GLF18B5.tmp" I have shutdown and restarted the computer and also downloaded the program again with the same result. Any help on this one would be much appreciated. |

Hi John, I'm sorry you're having trouble installing the update. It appears that the update is failing because it is unable to completely remove the previous version of The Panorama Factory. We have prepared a special Panorama Factory "Removal Tool" that can remove The Panorama Factory without using Windows Installer. After removing The Panorama Factory with this tool, you should be able to install The Panorama Factory update. To download the Removal Tool, go to http://www.panoramafactory.com/pfremove.html When you run the Removal Tool, I recommend you select the following options. (This will make more sense to you when you run the program):
1a. Partial removal with the intention to reinstall The Panorama Factory 2b. Remove Windows Registry entries, installer files, program shortcuts, application files and application folders First choose:
3a. Search for items to be removed but do not actually remove them With this option selected, clicking "4. Search" gives you a preview of the changes the Removal Tool will make to your computer. After you have examined the results of the search, choose:
3b. Really remove items With this option selected, clicking "4. Remove" will remove The Panorama Factory from your computer. After removal is complete, you should be able to install the update version of The Panorama Factory without further difficulty. Let me know if you have any questions about the Removal Tool. If you have problems running the Removal Tool or if you continue to have problems installing the update after running it, please follow the instructions at http://www.panoramafactory.com/pfinfo.html to send us information that will help us diagnose the problem. IMPORTANT: Because the pfinfo report contains information specific to your computer system, do not post it to this forum. Instead, please send the file by email to support @ panoramafactory.com. |
