I just upgraded to version 5 and ran my first image. This was an update to an existing page I had done in V. 4.x If you look at the attachment you will see two problems:

1. Even though the thumbnail setting is 1000x100 the resulting image (on the right) is more like 100x100. When I open the actual thumbnail the image is 950x100, so it did make the proper size, but did not insert properly into my index page. Because it is small, I assume that is why it moved it to the right, rather than below the existing image.

2. My existing thumbnails (see the one on the left) have a place for me to add a description ("TITLE_TXT"). These links do not seem to appear on V. 5.

There is actually a third problem (not visible in the attachment) When I click on the image (on the right) it will not open the associated *.mov file.

I have ran the image twice and checked all of my settings against what I had as my standard in V 4.x to ensure that they are all the same.

Any thoughts on the problem or how to resolve?

David

Hi David,

Could you post the full HTML file of your index page? Please use the "Upload Attachment" button so that the HTML code will not be munged by the forum (it's really hard to get HTML code to display properly in a forum post).

John -

Thanks for the response. Please see my attached HTML.

BTW, just as an FYI, the new image I tried in V. 5 was done using the PF wizard and not the batch process.

Thanks for posting the example. Sort of looks like a bug in PF to me! Give me a few days to look into it. I'll let you know what I find out.

  1. I was able to reproduce the problem with the thumbnail size. I have some idea of how to fix it...stay tuned!

  2. The title text seems to work properly for me. Are you sure you have entered the text into the Title value of the Image notes dialog box?

  3. You wrote:

Do you have this web online somewhere? I'd like to look at how the entire thing functions.

John -

Thanks for your reply, I am glad to hear that you have some ideas.

In regards to the title text, for all except the image that I had the problem with, they were produced using version 4.x and the batch processor. In the batch version, it picks up the name that is in your first image of the index page and just repeats it. I just made mine standard with "TITLE_TXT" and then open it in an editor and modify as needed.

For version 5.0 I did not use the batch features, and just did the regular PF Wizard. Yes, I did add a title and text from PF as usual (both just said "Morro Rock"). I modify the html code for the mov file so that it will cause the image to go full screen and still rotate (see an example here: )

http://www.panoramashots.com/panoramashots/USA/CA/San_Francisco/Golden_Gate_Bridge/0004/0004.html

It would be great if PF could send it straight to full screen, save me the step, but that is a different issue.

For the problem that I am trying to resolve, all of the code and resulting files were done with PF no changes yet.

I have posted the page, when I try it posted, it now works fine for the link (image is still small). If I try it local, all of the other links work fine, except the last one that is small. Since it is working published on the web, I guess it is OK, would like to test locally though.

Ultimately this page will have less images and will have all of the description information completed. You can find the rough version here:

Thanks again,

David

John -

I left the main thumbnail page for you to review, but changed the supporting pages. I manually had to resolve the problem on my end to make my production deadline. Let me know if you need to see anything from the supporting area.
