I have a very large panorama and when I edit the blending region, each change forces a reblending of the entire image which makes the process VERY SLOW. Is there a way to suspend the reblending until I have finished changing all the blending rectangles? Also, what triggers the blending rectangles to be reset to their default positions? Sometimes I edit the blending rectangles and later return to find them in their default state.

The ability to suspend reblending when changing blending rectangles is being added to the next major release of The Panorama Factory (V4.0). I cannot give you a release date at this time, but it is not too far off! The blending rectangles are reset to their default positions whenever you restitch or whenever the image-to-image alignment changes. So, for example, changing the Camera properties, applying the Restitch command, or editing the alignment with the Overlap region dialog box will reset the blending rectangles. Changes that do not affect image-to-image alignment should not reset the blending rectangles. For example, you should be able to edit the fine tuning or change the Blending properties without resetting the blending rectangles.

So it sounds like one should hold off on editing the blending rectangles until everything else is set else one risks losing them. Maybe in V4 the edited blending rectangles could be maintained or at least a warning given that proceeding with an edit will reset the blending rectangles. A really nice feature would be the ability to customize the shape and width of the blending region. For instance, in the sky the blending region could be wide so that there is a smooth transition, but elsewhere the region could narrow and curve as appropriate. |

The feature you asked for in you last post, "ability to customize the shape and width of the blending region," has been added in V4.0. Hope you like it! |
