I am trying to stitch 5 images 4288 x 2848 and 48 bit. It always gets "Out of Memory". Running XP Pro SP 2 with 4 GB of RAM which should be buckets. I assume this stitch exceeds the limits of Panorama Factory.
I would like to know if you are going to release a 64bit version for Intel EMT64T. I have one and would like to use it please as all my source images are this large now. |

The AMD64 version of The Panorama Factory will also run on Intel's EM64T systems.
The 64-bit version of The Panorama Factory was labeled "AMD64" prior to Intel's release of their EM64T systems which are compatible with AMD64 instructions set.
Future 64-bit versions of The Panorama Factory will be labeled "x64", Microsoft's designation for compatible 64-bit systems including AMD64 and EM64T.
The 64-bit version of The Panorama Factory is currently in public beta release. See The Panorama Factory 64-Bit Edition for more information. This page includes information that should help explain why even 4 GB of RAM may not be enough under 32-bit windows. |

Thanks. I had not tried. But just did and it works great.
I also should have tried the 32bit version on my 64bit machine because it seems it can handle the files as well. |

The 32-bit version has increased memory addressing capability when run on a 64-bit computer under Windows x64. This is because the application is "large address aware". This means it can use up to 4 GB of virtual memory, within limits imposed by Windows.
32-bit Windows limits even large address aware programs to 2 GB. But 64-bit Windows permits the application to use the full 4 GB.
Under 32-bit Windows it is possible to increase the memory available to large address aware programs like The Panorama Factory by setting a special boot option in Windows XP. For more information, see Increase the virtual memory available under Windows XP. |

5 images @ 4288 x 2848 is nothing. I stitched 20 to 30 images, each 8Mpix, the result being up to 150Mpix.
To achieve that, I followed the PanoFactory recommendations:
1. increasing the available virtual memory size in Windows to 3GB,
2. saving the project after reading the input images AND after stitching, before cropping.
Additionally, in the very most extreme cases, I exited PanoramaFactory after stitching (and after saving the project, of course) and started it again for the cropping. My impression is, that the memory housekeeping is not clean, it wastes some memory, and by restarting the program this will be avoided.
