AMD's own testing has determined that the 64-bit version of The Panorama Factory delivers a 57% speed increase over the 32-bit version. See AMD Announces New 64-Bit Applications Demonstrate Performance Increases Up To 57 Percent.
Independent benchmarks have shown similar results:

Of course, The primary advantage of the 64-bit version is that it effectively eliminates the "out of memory" problem. The maximum image size is practically unlimited.
Under Windows XP 32, the theoretical maximum image size is somewhere between 1/4 and 1/4 Gpx (gigapixel). In practice, as virtual memory becomes fragmented during the running of an application, the maximum is often lower than this.
Under Windows XP x64, the theoretical maximum is more than 1000 x larger, 1 Tpx (terapixel) or more. I use the phrase "practically unlimited" because in practice there will be other limiting factors such as the number of photos required and the increase in computing time commensurate with the finished size of the picture.
Also, although the current setup of The Panorama Factory 64-Bit Edition says "AMD64 Edition", it will also run on Intel's 64-bit EM64T processors (Xeon and Pentium 4 6xx). Note that the independent benchmarks used 64-bit systems from both AMD and Intel.
