Whenever I create a panorama I do not want it trimmed, as I take the final panorama into Photoshop and trim it myself.
Is there any way to stop PF automatically trimming the image after anything is altered? It's taking up a lot of time to do something I don't want it to. I simply want to create, enhance and improve the quality of the whole image, then save it.
Also, the escape button often does not interrupt actions and I need to wait for them to complete. Often what I was want to do is to to set very small overlapping regions for all joins (as I usually get ghosting). Currently I need to wait for automatic generation to occur after each one, when I want to do the whole lot in one go.
Is there any way to only do processing when required, or is this something for a later version of PF? |

Agreed, this is something I am looking for as well. If there is any way to stop the trimming I would appreciate knowing how. Thanks |

How to eliminate cropping
To eliminate cropping altogether, you have to remove the cropped image from your project. To remove an image from the project, click its thumbnail and type the DELETE key or use the Delete selected command (Edit menu).
You'll have to also remove the enhanced image from the project because it depends upon the cropped image. Then you should double-click the stitched image and reapply the Enhance command (New image menu) to this image so that it will be an enhanced copy of the stitched image.
It may be simpler to start your stitched image using the Classic interface (menu commands) rather than the Wizard. This allows you to control exactly which images are created. For more information, refer to Using the Classic interface, step by step.
How to avoid the automatic recalculation
In the future (next major release, V4.0), only the image you are modifying will be recomputed automatically. In your example, you have a stitched image that is then cropped and enhanced. In V4, modifying the stitched image by adjusting the overlap region will not automatically recompute the cropped and enhanced image. These images will be recomputed later if and when you display them.
Atthe present (V1.x, V2.x, V3.x), there is no way to suppress the automatic recalculation. However, you can eliminate these steps by removing the cropped and enhanced images from your project. Then later, after you have finished modifying the stitched image, you can reapply the Crop command and/or the Enhance command (New image menu).

Great! That really does save me a lot of time. :-) The Classic interface really speeds things up. I've now also found out that I did not need the 'enhance' function, as I do the sharpening in Photoshop anyway.
I'm looking forward to V4.0. Can you give any indication of timescales of when it should be ready? I know you have worked on 64 processing, but are you optimising PF for dual core processors as well? :-) Thanks. |
