hi
a pre purchase question....
I have an image 8 inches by 47.54 inches at 221.625 pixels per inch,
however
I cant seem to actually print this size as Photoshop limits my printing size to
41.667 inches (30,000 pixels?)
how do I get around this to get a print on my Epson 2100 printing on roll
paper 8.3" by 32.8' (210mm by 10m)
would the panorama factory software allow me to do this?

Unfortunately, I am unable to give advice about specific printer models. I wish I could afford to buy every printer for testing, but there are too many printer models!
I can answer with some general comments about printing in The Panorama Factory.
- The Panorama Factory does not impose a limit on the maximum print size, but some printer drivers do. You should consult your printer manual to find out what limitations, if any, are placed on the maximum length of a single print image. In some cases, the limit may differ depending upon which version of Windows and/or which version of the driver you are using. Consider, for example, the Epson 2000p. Its driver for Windows 98 (version 5.00) limits print size to 44 inches, but its driver for Windows XP (version 5.20) allows printing up to 129 inches.
- If your printer supports banner printing or printing with margins set to zero, you may be able to print unlimited image lengths by specifying multi-page printing with zero margins. The Panorama Factory will break up your image into a sequence of pages and print them so that each image starts exactly where the previous one ended. Read the FAQ pages Photo Banner Printing, Banner Panorama and Panoramas on Roll Paper & Epson 1270.
- The Panorama Factory does not have a numeric limit on image size, so it may be possible to process images larger than 30,000 pixels. However, maximum image size is set by a Windows limit on the individual virtual memory allocations. This limitation is discussed in the trouble report Out of memory when stitching large images. This limits the total number of pixels in your image. The limitation is different depending on which version of Windows you are using (95, 98, ME, NT, 2000 or XP)

Can you help ? When I print even a simple A4 on gloss or semi gloss the set of rollers at the paper exit leave a trail of 1/8 inch lines about 1 inch apart on the ink area of the print. Clearly the ink is not dry and the rollers pick up the ink. have you seen this problem before and have I perhaps set up the printer wrong ?
I'm using the standard Epson inks and a Lyson paper. Could the problem be with the absorbtion of the paper ? |

Well I've recently had this same problem, which was cured by a visit to the local Epson Service Centre, they did this while I waited, and gave me a years guarentee.
For apparently a standard fee, (I was told), they cleaned rollers, relevant ink pads, and lubricated the bar which the cartridge carrier runs on. All for a reasonable fee of £20.00p. This was in the UK. But there should be service centres around the world.
It runs so quiet now, I have to lift the lid to see if it's printing. |
