I am evaluating PF3.3 and tried to stitch 4 sample photos found on Panorama Tools website to see if the results would be similar. I chose camera setup of a 35mm SLR with a "standard lens." (I guessed 55mm) and left all else automatic.
The Pan came out with significant artifacts which may have not appeared had I known the focal length, I don't know.
My intent is to produce so-called "mega pixel" panoramic photographs with my Nikon D-70 (and have a guess focal length multiplier of 1.5), by stitching 4 to 6 - 6MegPix shots into a 20+ MegPix Panorama.
A 4 shot pan is pretty easy, stitch the top two, bottom two, rotate right, stitch top and bottom and Voila.
Since I have no preference or allegiance to either program (yet) ... is Panorama Factory the application to use, or am I wasting my time here?

Am I correct that you are asking about multi-row stitching? The current version of The Panorama Factory doesn't support multi-row stitching, sorry. This is something that's on the (long) list of things we'd like to add, but it's a long way in the future.

Some people have tried a manual procedure for multi-row stitching that's described here: Multi Row stitching. You'll have to be the judge of whether the results are satisfactory.
