Dear Folks,
I'm trying to install v1.6 with no luck. I manually expanded pf1p6.exe with WinZip to confirm it was good. Clicking on either pf1p6.exe or setup.exe (in the expanded folder gets me the system hourglass for a fraction of a second and that's it. I checked the Event Viewer log and it shows no entries, so the process is aborting before EV makes any note of it.
I'm running Windows 2K, SP4 on an Athlon 1900+ system, with 1.5GB RAM, 3 GB of system paging file and plenty of free space for the paging fle to expand. I (temporarily!) disabled both my firewall and anti-virus software in case they were conflicting. But nada. Anyone have any suggestions?
On thing I haven't tried is booting into VGA safe mode and trying an install from there. Is that even worth attempting?
