Read previous post on how to make a QTVR from a single 360 panorama. Did and it worked - kinda. Was able to import image and creat QTVR but the process described doesn't allow blending of the one seam. I shoot with a Seitz Roundshot (swinglens camera that can shoot over 360 degrees onto medium format film). I shoot 450 degrees and was hoping to use Pano Factory to blend the one seam before converting to high rez QTVR. Even though the camera shoots amazingly clean high rez shots (the negative is essentially 4 645 frames in size=BIG!) the seam is not perfect. Still need to blend it, if just a little. Suggestions? |

Unfortunately, The Panorama Factory V3.3 does not provide a technique for blending the seam of a single panoramic image such as one from a Seitz Roundshot (or other rotational camera). Seam blending is part of the image stitching operation which, in V3.3, requires at least two images. This suggests a possible workaround. You could divide your 360 degree image into two images and then use The Panorama Factory to stitch them together as a 360-degree panorama. The Panorama Factory requires some overlap between images when stitching. When you divide your original 360-degree image into two images, perhaps you should take the left hand two-thirds and the right hand two thirds so that you have one-third overlap. Given the current blending method used in The Panorama Factory, a larger overlap may help reduce image artifacts introduced by the blending. This may be a slightly awkward workaround, but it is the best I can think of at this time. If you try this workaround, please post your experiences back to this forum thread. I'd like to know whether it works out for you!
