One more question, if you don't mind -

My QT panoramas are stuttering on playback. The stutters are regularly spaces, and happen whether panning left or right.

How to remedy?

Thanks again, for any help!

Hi Greg,

I have seen this behavior myself on a few occasions. I'm not certain what causes it, but I don't believe that The Panorama Factory is responsible for it. I am pretty sure that there isn't anything that The Panorama Factory can do to help.

I have two thoughts.

1. I have seen references on the web to a problem like this in QuickTime 5. They say that it is corrected in QuickTime 6. Which version are you running? You might try updating to the latest QuickTime to see if it helps.

2. It is possible that the QuickTime viewer may not be responsible for the problem either. I've seen this with other viewers on a few occasions.

I think the problem may be caused by some other software that is running on your computer. On one of my computers, the QuickTime viewer does this when the CD drive is empty! I think the CD driver is checking every second or so to see if I have inserted a disk. This actually slows my computer down quite a bit. I always keep a music CD in the drive on this computer.

I suggest you quit all other programs to see if this helps. You might have to quit programs running in the "system tray" (the area at the right hand end of the task bar at the bottom of the Windows desktop). If this resolves the problem, you might be able to isolate which program is the problem by stopping them one at a time.
