Dear all,
the string "Markierungen für das Zusammensetzen drucken" is too long to be displayed complete within the screen.
On my computer I can just see "Markierungen für das Zusammensetzen drucke" (and the "e" at the end is even just displayed half of it).
I would like to suggest to cut the string down to "Markierungen für Zusammensetzung drucken".

I would suggest "Registrierungsmarkierungen drucken" or "Ausrichtungsmarkierungen drucken".
I prefer the latter, as it it seems to suggest the word's meaning to users not familiar with the word.

Hi Johann,
"Registrierungsmarken drucken" is something complete different. I haven't heard this phrase so far and under normal circumstances I do not have a clue what should be the meaning of this (if I did not see this thread).
This is because the phrase consists of the word "Registierung" which is mostly used for "Software registrieren" or within goverment "Einwohner registrieren".
But "Ausrichtungsmarkierungen drucken" fits perfectly! Really great!

If the original phrase, "Markierungen für das Zusammensetzen drucken", is the best choice, I can enlarge the dialog box slightly so that it will fit. It only needs to be enlarged a small amount. I can do this easily in V3.2.
On the other hand, if "Ausrichtungsmarkierungen drucken" is better, let's use that.
You just have to tell me if I should enlarge the dialog box. |

FYI the English word "registration" can also mean "the act of adjusting something to match a standard". In our context, registration (i.e. alignment) is achieved by aligning the "registration marks".
Google points to several occurrences of "Registrierungsmarkierungen", for example http://www.edition-w3c.de/TR/1998/REC-CSS2-19980512/kap13.html:
"Kreuzmarkierungen (auch als Register- oder Registrierungsmarkierungen bezeichnet) werden für die Ausrichtung von Blättern verwendet."
I agree that "Ausrichtungsmarkierungen" is the more intuitively obvious term. Google also knows about it.
The dictionary at dict.leo.org knows neither term (yet!).

But would it be possible to enlarge the width of the dialog box for some changes within the field "layout"?
Because the following changes would be great and would be like within other graphic applications -> Johann please take a look:
Use "Druck-Größe" or "Ausgabe-Größe" instead of "layout".
Seite füllen -> an Seitengröße anpassen
Volle Größe -> Originalgröße
Höhe füllen -> an Seitenhöhe anpassen
Breite füllen -> an Seitenbreite anpassen
