The new Sigma 12-24 has an effective 19.2mm focal length with my canon 300d and is a very compelling purchase. The lense is a bit dark though and working without a flash is a major convenience when stitching. So I have looked at a 15mm 2.8 fisheye and was considering doing some defishing with Imagealign or Power Retouche. These two software programs will turn the spherical fisheye image into something rectilinear. The settings though are subjective and I am afraid that the images will be a little different each time and cause Pfactory problems. Also there is no batch processing, so it is time consuming. Has anyone tried this workflow scenario? I am doing Real Estate interiors http://www.sembrot.com/virtual/Lindsay1 So long exposures are not a problem and that is an argument for the Sigma 12-24. So will it work with Pfactory if you use a custom sensor setting and enter the focal length as 12 x 1.6 = 19.2? Additional final question. Do you think the extra FOV gained from the 12mm, is that valuable to the presentation of my Vtours above? Some experts will see some ghosting and that is my fault, too few pictures. The next one will be 20 instead of 12-13.
