I describe my camera as Nikon Coolpix 990. I also know the focal length of each picture recorded in the INFO.TXT file. For example, when I zoom to the widest angle, the focal length recorded is: f8.2mm(X1.0). When zoomed to the max, it is: f56.1mm(X2.4). This is with the normal 990 lens. Should I use the info recorded with each picture? If so, how do I calculate the 35mm equivalent focal length from the recorded info.

According to the Nikon Coolpix 990 specifications at http://www.nikonusa.com/specs/25045.pdf the Coolpix 990's actual focal length range of 8-24mm corresponds to 38-115mm for 35mm cameras. This means that you should multiply the focal length reported in INFO.TXT by 4.8 to convert to its 35mm equivalent.
For the reasons given in the article What is "35mm equivalent focal length?" it is usually best to use this as the initial value for further focal length refinement by The Panorama Factory. |

I have a Nikon D 100. Is that camera in the Panorama Factory's "camera library"?
